Suzuno was Byakko No Miko almost one hundred years before Miaka
and Yui's time. By that time, Suzuno is very old and dying, this is how Keisuke and Tetsuya find her.

It is explained that the Priestess of Genbu's father was a close friend of Suzuno's father, Oosugi Takago,
and upon Takiko's death intrusted the book to him as it could not be destroyed. It was this way that Suzuno found the book
and entered it as Byakko No Miko. Due to Suzuno's strong sense of will, she was not devoured by the animal god after merging
with Byakko, as Takiko was. Upon her death, she is reunited with her love Tatara who was one of her seishi in the Universe
of the Four Gods.

Tatara was put under a spell by fellow seishi Subaru to keep him young so as to better protect the shinzaho,
although the spell only works within the confinds of Byakko Hall. It turns out that Tatara is leader of the Byakko seishi
and was in love with Byakko No Miko, Oosugi Suzuno. He and Suzuno were parted from eachother when Suzuno called Byakko as
He could not fulfill their wish to stay together. Tatara was forcibly taken from Byakko Hall by Nakago in efforts to procure
the Byakko shinzaho from him. As he is away from Byakko Hall, Tatara's body begins to age...to catch up to the hundred years
of aging its missed. Tatara exhibits impressive powers over plants and helps defeat Miboshi's first assault. But, in the process,
Tatara is hurt beyond his aging body's abilities and dies soon after. At the same time, Suzuno, in the real world, is old
and dies at the same moment. It is then that Tatara is able to cross the dimensions and time to be reunited with a young Suzuno
in the afterlife and become finally happy.

cool and really would have liked to see more of him and the other, yet unseen, Byakko warriors.
