Name: Gyoshuku Pronunciation: Gee-yo-shoe-koo Hair Color:
Dark brown
We learn Gyoshuku is Hotohori's great-grandson, and Boushin's grandson.
He also is a child emperor surrounded with advisors instead of family members and greatly pressed upon by his responsiblities.
Meeting Tamahome of the Suzaku celestial warriors tale
is seen as a highlight to the young emperor.
***SPOILER WARNING*** (for OVA1:2) It
turns out that Gyoshuku was only part of an elaborate illusion made up by Tomo on behalf of Tenkou so as to slowly make Tamahome
go crazy.

Name: Kaen Pronunciation: Cayene (like the pepper) Hair:
Reddish-brown
In the first OVA series, Kaen is the girl who meets Tamahome
in Kotou country. She apparently has sexual abilites akin to Soi's and even refers to her when speaking of the ability.
**SPOILER WARNING** (for OVA1:2&3) It
turns out that Kaen is really acting as a vessel (like the Nyan Nyans do) for Tomo's spirit, who Tenkou has called back to
serve him. But, alas, all does not bode well for the Painted One again, and he is killed by Tenkou when Tomo's illusion is
seen through yet again. As for the real Kaen? No one really knows who she was, or why she was picked to act as Tomo's vessel...

Name: Tenkou Pronunciation: Ten-ko Hair Color:
White
Tenkou is the main bad guy in the OVA series. He, if you can
believe it, was Nakago's boss and is even more evil and more powerful than Nakago. Sounds scary doesn't he?
***SPOILER WARNING*** (for OVA2:6) Tenkou
apparently was a prince in ancient Japan who learned of the "Universe of the Four Gods" book and of the power to
be found within as one of the four gods. To figure a way into the book, Tenkou began practicing the "dark arts" for which
he was beheaded, even though he's a prince. His spirit became enraged and became stronger until the four gods had to seal
him away from the world. Apparently it didn't work. He also went a little crazy, thinking himself a god when he really wasn't.
Tenkou's plan was to use the four gods' power laid in the ability to gain negative energy released during the beating down
of people who loved each other. His plan... use the Suzaku celestial warriors and their priestess to produce this energy and
he'd just have to sit back and watch it accumulate. it almost worked, until Miaka and Taka make the ultimate sacrifices to
call upon the Four Gods to banish him.

Name: Sukunami Taka Pronunciation: Sue-kue-nah-me tah-caw Age:
19 Height: 178cm Hair Color: Black with blue highlights Eye Color: Grey Blood Type: O
Taka is the reincarnation of Tamahome in Miaka's world. He has
a faint memory of being a celestial warrior in another life and of protecting Miaka, but other than that he has
no memory of his previous life. To regain his memory, he must collect all seven orbs of memory from each of the other Suzaku
celestial warriors, alive or dead. If he does not, he will cease to exist as Taka in the real world.

Name: Shigyou Ren Pronunciation: She-gee-yo ren Hair
Color: Greyish-purple Eye Color: Greyish-purple
Ren is a new student at Miaka and Yui's school in the second
OVA series. He is extremely popular and has plans for the direction of the school and its students. Also, he is leader of
a bunch of kids who threaten Miaka and Taka.
**SPOILER WARNING** (for OVA2:3) Ren, apparently, can make people follow his every whim... like making them try to kill Miaka. He does all this
for Tenkou who saved him and his sister from a horrible death. "His sister??" you ask. Yup, Miiru is Ren's sister, she's also
his lover. "Lover?...sister?" Yup, they had an incestuous relationship which they were ran out of their town for, and summarily
killed because of. This all happened in the past (past book world or real world? -- I think it's a real world), where
Ren was known as Renhou. well, Ren and Miiru don't get a happy ending this time either, as Ren is killed by Tenkou for failing
in his mission.

Name: Kamishiro Miiru Pronunciation: Kah-me-she-row mear-ru Hair
Color: Greyish-purple Eye Color: Marronish-purple
Miiru is a student at Keisuke, Tetsuya, and Taka's college.
She has an interest in ancient chinese mythology and joins Keisuke's ancient chinese mythology club. she also believes Keisuke's
story about his sister entering a book and becoming a priestess.
**SPOILER WARNING** (for OVA2:3) Miiru, as it turns out, has special powers over blood and can make "blood dolls" through which she can control
a person. Very vampire-esque. She also turns out to be Ren's sister and lover. Back in their real time (I think real
time), they were persecuted for their incestuous relationship and thrown off a cliff to die. I think it was then that Tenkou
found them and convinced them to work for him. (If any of this is wrong, let me know) Again, Miiru and Ren do not get their
happy ending and are destroyed by Tenkou for failing, although, both of them do get redeemed when Tenkou is destroyed by the
Four Gods.

Name: Boushin Pronunciation: bow-shin Hair Color: Brown
(like his father's) Eye Color: Brown (also like his father's)
Hotohori's son from his Empress Houki, and future emperor of Konan country. Since his birth, Boushin has been isolated from his mother due
to her mourning for Hotohori. It is because of this isolation that Boushin has never spoken to anyone, it is only through
his father's love and Taka's kindness that Boushin learns
of his father's love for him and begins to talk.

Name: Cho Rokou Pronunciation: Cho Row-ku Hair Color:
Blue Eye Color: Green
Apparently Rokou thinks he isn't worthy of his family, thinking
himself weak compared to his siblings Nuriko and Korin. So he has this inferiority complex-thing going, so when Miaka and Taka showed
up wanting Nuriko's orb, he refuses saying, basically; "I'd rather die then give this up to you!" Okay, Rokou's main problem
is that he shuts out the Suzaku Seven warriors, saying that they left Nuriko on that snowy mountain somewhere in the
north to die. Until Rokou accepts Nuriko's fate and that it was honorable and good, and that he himself has strength within
him, he cannot open himself up to people again.

Name: Hikou Pronunciation: Hi (i as in fish)-ku Hair
Color: Blue Eye Color: Brown
Hikou was Chichiri's best friend who assaulted Chichiri's fiance, Kouran. She then refused to marry Chichiri saying she was
dirty and had betrayed him. Chichiri, of course, went to confront his "friend" and they got into a major fight. Hikou died
as a result of this. He is back as a minion of Tenkou to
get revenge on the man who killed him.
**SPOILER WARNING** (for OVA2:5) Okay, now the sad part. All Hikou did was steal a kiss and an embrace
from Kouran, but she was a very proper girl, so she felt she had to break off her engagement to Chichiri. All Chichiri
knew was that his fiance broke off their engagement after an "incident" with his best friend, Hikou. Naturally, a fight insued,
but so did a flood which ravaged Chichiri's town of Sohryu. Kouran and Chichiri's family died in the flood, while Chichiri
faced off with Hikou. Due to the high velocity waters of the flood, a situation occured during their faceoff: Hikou was going
to be washed off the edge of a cliff, but Chichiri caught his hand and tried to hold on. While struggling to save his friend,
a log came rushing towards Chichiri threatening to hit him in the face....so, Chichiri reflexively let go of his friend's
hand to guard his face from the high-speed log and failed. As a result, he lost his friend and his eye in the same moment.
Now, Hikou returned due to Tenkou's magic to pay revenge upon Chichiri by taking those he cares about...starting with
Miaka. Hikou is granted a type of water magic which brings out people latent darker sides. Tasuki is affected by this water
and almost raped Miaka and attempts to kill Taka. But, due to Chichiri's strength of character, emotions, and devotion, Hikou
is not only defeated, but his soul is saved and allowed peace at last.

Name: Yosui Pronunciation: Yo-swe Hair Color: Brown Eye
Color: Brown?
Yosui is the last of the ShiTenOu (Four Kings of Heaven).
***SPOILER WARNING*** (for OVA2:6) It turns out that the Tamahome that returned in the
end of OVA2:5 was really Yosui who had received the memory orbs ripped from Taka by Tenkou. So, in a way, Yosui is the real
Tamahome. Of course, no one knows that Tamahome is really Yosui until Miaka already starts to realize that the one she loves
now is Taka not Tamahome... so then Yosui must resort to physical means to make Miaka his (he is Tamahome so he naturally
wants Miaka to himself), so a fight ensues between Yosui and the now returned Taka. Yosui has all of Tamahome's old powers,
while Taka has only his love of Miaka to get him through. So, to make a long story short...Yosui fires a MAJOR ki ball at
Taka which Miaka takes full-on and basically, dies. Taka then realizes that they shouldn't be fighting and that Yosui is just
another part of himself... a part he lost, so he confronts Yosui and through his accepting of Yosui as a part of himself,
absorbs Yosui and becomes the true Tamahome reincarnation. pretty cool, huh?
And just to clarify, as i've gotten many questions on it, Miaka
dies in front of Taka, Taka absorbs Yosui, Taka then surrenders his body to be with Miaka, and it is through this surrender
and the love between Miaka and Taka that the two of them are able to call Suzaku and set things right. It is then that Taiitsukun
grants them the ability to be placed back into their physical bodies (they are spirits), but they are given the choice of
going to the book world or the real world. they choose the real world with the Suzaku Seven's blessings. then they get married,
have a kid (a boy), and all is happy.
